Even the smallest of extensions can make a dramatic difference to the harmony of a home. Every part of this commission was considered to seamlessly adjoin the old building with the new. The ambition, to create a sociable, light & open plan kitchen diner that nestled between a lovely established garden & cosy sitting room.
There was already a more traditional aesthetic in place, keepsakes, art work & beautiful styling helped guide the look & feel. The materials used were, polished concrete, walnut, wenge & rift sawn fumed oak. Brass fittings added a little bling along with the lovely mustard yellow upholstery
A mobile butcher’s block also added some flexibility to the layout. My favourite bit is where the beautiful marble worktop, interspersed with grey veins and pinkish hues, meets the concrete floor. The grey colour is so very similar it is almost as though the materials are entwined. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!
