BRIGHTON DOME TICKET OFFICE
Square One Workshop was invited into the tender process with ZST architects for the redesign of the Brighton Dome ticket office, forming part of the Pavillion Estate.
Our initial designs were shortlisted & after a second interview & consultation, we won the tender.
The Dome is a prime example of exoticism. The Indo-Islamic revival exterior leads into further Moorish design and Art Deco tiling in the interior. Our concept was to create a timeless installation of enduring quality which bridged, the style of the past and contemporary needs and tastes. The design is centred on quality materials & careful detailing. The palette of materials used were Anticato stone, brass, oak & laser cut frosted perspex
It has been a great experience working with ZSTa. Creative & fun. The project was installed to schedule & was shortlisted for a Sussex Heritage Award.
At a time when we are undergoing a major refurbishment of two of our historic venues, we’ve been delighted to work with SQ1 workshop & ZST architects on transforming what we had thought was a fairly limited space into something both beautiful and functional, and which sensitively integrates their designs into our existing Grade 1 listed buildings.
