I love reading...I love caffeine & now I really love the library....
Square One Design has just completed the design and installation of a fantastic coffee & refreshment bar courtesy of the Temptation Cafe at the Brighton Jubilee Library. This was a great opportunity for us to showcase our design & manufacturing skills to fulfill the requirements for a hardwearing, mobile & secure coffee bar. We needed to incorporate an aesthetic in keeping with an architectural & environmentally award winning building. Light, airy and spacious, the library is fully accessible and is one of the most energy efficient public buildings in the country, taking advantage of natural energy provided by sunshine and wind.
The bar consists of two equally proportioned parts which can be pulled apart from the centre when in use and then closed & secured to prevent access to its fridges and stock. The predominant materials are solid oak, grey Formica laminate, birch ply & medullary ray oak veneer. The front is a mix of sculpted oak incorporating warm LED lit signage & can be wheeled to any part of the library if so required.
Through every stage, it has been a really creative project to work on. I wish Paul, Peter & the Temptation team the best of luck with their new venture, go take a look & sample some of Temptations delicious freshly baked fayre. Client testimonial below.
